December 21, 2007

Well, this morning I had to separate Woody from Norma. Norma is just too laid back for him! He needs another very playful kitty -- so if you have one at home, you might consider adopting Woody!I just ordered the book "Scared Poopless" about caring for your pet, feeding and other health issues. I ordered it because our dog Gracie scared us this past week with bright red bloody vomiting, lethary and diahrrea. After blood work, fecals and other various exams, the vet could not really specify what was wrong with her, and suspects an ulcer. We did some internet research and have decided to change her diet to a raw, dehydrated, human-grade food diet (our other dog Cookie will benefit too) from Honest Kitchen. I'll keep you all posted on the diet and the book!

Today Woody the kitten has come to stay at my house for the holidays. He's pretty spunky, and needs someone to play with, so he's in the bathroom with Norma, our sweet laid-back kitten who is going home on Christmas eve as a surprise present for their 10-year old daughter. Hopefully, in the next few days, Norma will teach Woody all about respecting human hands & not to play-bite so hard! Meanwhile, I hear a lot of thumping going on in there.... I guess I'll check in there in a few minutes to assess the damage to the toilet paper roll.

More news on the kitten front! Three of the Moe's kitties, who you may have noticed are on our Available for Adoption page, are still pretty wild. They were born to a feral behind Moe's on Peachtree, and have not tamed down as nicely as we would have liked -- ie., they're not very adoptable. We have found a horse barn in NW Georgia for them! This is very exciting news for us, because it is very difficult to place feral cats. Cat overpopulaiton is such a problem. Please, please please spay and neuter your pets!
